Nora Wilcox - Administrative Director

Nora grew up on Martha’s Vineyard and returned in 2018 to raise her own family on the Island she has always called home. A 2007 MV Vision Fellow, Nora went on to earn her MSW from the University of Chicago in 2009 and has since built a career as a Social Worker primarily focused on the urgent issue of housing and homelessness in New York City, Providence, and here on the Vineyard.

Through her work and lived experience, Nora understands the critical connection between high-quality, reliable, and affordable child care and a community’s financial stability—an essential foundation for a strong Island-wide workforce. Deeply invested in the sustainability of the up-Island community, Nora joined the CPS Board in 2023 as the preschool prepared to build a new home. and double its size. Her commitment led her to step into the role of Administrative Director in 2025.

Nora is passionate about ensuring that every individual, no matter their age, has what they need to be their best self, including access to a safe, supportive, and enriching educational environment where they can build community, grow, and thrive. Both of her children are graduates of the Chilmark Preschool and now attend the Chilmark Elementary School. Nora enjoys yoga, nature walks, horses and spending time with her two children, two cats, dog and chickens in her free time.
